Lewisville’s Brownfields program is intended to promote redevelopment of properties in the community with potential environmental contamination. With the help of funding from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Lewisville helps qualifying properties conduct environmental site assessments on property with potential for redevelopment.
Would my property qualify?
The U.S. EPA’s defines brownfields as “…real property, the expansion, redevelopment or reuse of which may be complicated by the presence or potential presence of a hazardous substance, pollutant, or contaminant.” This means that most properties with potential for contamination are eligible. This funding is intended to facilitate real estate transactions when environmental issues are a potential concern, primarily in areas experiencing redevelopment.
Applications from potential participants may be submitted to the Lewisville Office of Economic Development at any time. Please visit our Downloadable Documents section and access a copy of the Economic Incentive Policy or visit www.epa.gov for full details on the program.
