Celebrate Christmas at the Cabin

Saturday, Dec. 13
Post Date:November 07, 2025
Take a trip back to an 1870s Christmas and celebrate the old-fashioned way during Christmas at the Cabin, Saturday, Dec. 13, 10 a.m.-3 p.m., at Lewisville Lake Environmental Learning Area (LLELA), 201 E. Jones Street.

Enjoy a tour of the historic Minor-Porter Log Home, make an ornament to take home to your own Christmas tree, create a hand-dipped candle, listen to carols and sip hot cider by the campfire.

Visitors are welcome to arrive at any time during the open hours and join in at their own pace. Registration is not required. Admission to this event is free with entry to LLELA: $5 per vehicle, credit card only. Season passes are available.

The Minor-Porter Log Home is located on the Cottonwood Trail, about a 0.3-mile walk from the parking lot at the Cicada Pavilion. A hayride will be available to assist visitors with mobility limitations. A shuttle will run through all LLELA parking lots to help visitors get to the log house if they must park a distance away.

LLELA is more than 2,700 acres of prairies, forests, and wetlands managed as a wildlife preserve by a group of agencies including the City of Lewisville, the University of North Texas, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and Lewisville ISD. Its mission is to preserve and restore native Texas ecosystems and biodiversity while providing opportunities for environmental education, research, and recreation.
